Meet Angel

Angel Gaines-Dingle was born in Orlando, Florida. She spent most of her childhood in Orlando,Florida, and Virginia (Norfolk, Portsmouth, & Virginia Beach). A 1998 High School Graduate
from Naples America High School, in Naples Italy. Angel grew up a military child and traveled a
lot. Angel and her husband, Odom Sr. meet in 1996 in Naples, Italy, and married years later.
They have currently been married for 14 years and have 5 beautiful children, Shakela,
Courvoisier, Odom Jr, Madison, & Mason Dingle, and 3 adorable grandchildren Ja’Leah,
Tristan, & Lyric Dingle.

 

A Strong History

In Angel’s early 20’s she served as the Church Secretary and children’s church Sunday School teacher. Angel has always had a passion for helping the community. Helping many organizations with feeding and clothing the homeless, in he Atlanta area. She is passionate about youth programs and community-oriented endeavors and has worked to grow local nonprofits and community-based programs.

In 2002, when Angel & her husband’s first daughter started school. She jumped into action and became involved.

She assisted the Director with on-site visits to all the Headstart and Pre-K facilities. Once all her children started elementary school, she signed up for the PTA and was always involved with her children’s education.

She had the opportunity to help teach a 1st-grade class at Bazoline Usher Collier Heights Elementary School, in Atlanta Ga. Where her then youngest child was a student in that class.

Angel also was named “Mama Dingle” by all the young children, due to her given and loving nature. Over the years Angel has always been on the front line for the education of the youth. While her children attend Bunche Middle School, in Atlanta Ga she joined the PTA and had the pleasure
of sitting on the board to help hire a new principal. When her children attended high school at

D.M. Therrell High School in Atlanta Ga, she was asked by a Managing Director with Teach for America to sit on a panel, to help explain how to reach children in Urban schools. She also was asked by an Athletic Director to help in the process to hire a new Head Football Coach.

She was the only female in this process.
In 2019, Angel and her husband made the decision to start the process to become Foster Parents. They were placed with a set of twins a girl and a boy.

They foster for a little under a
year before they decided to officially adopt. Due to Covid, the adoption took place via Zoom on April 1st, 2020, which grew their family to 5 children. In the summer of 2020, Angel became the Program Director for the mentoring group called Wifey Me.

To date, the program has helped over 30 young adults become a better version of
themselves. Angel has worked alongside Dr. Mark Baker with the Just Us League. Her commitment to the community is evident through her service with other organizations. She serves on boards and leadership teams for various organizations and non-profits in the Atlanta area.

Angel has worked for Sysco Guest Supply for over 15 years, she works in Corporate Accounts as an Account Support Specialist/Brand Manager where she manages IHG hotels and Intown
Suites, across the country. Angel had the opportunity of joining a non-collegiate Sorority in 2020, Delta Psi Rho, Inc. where she now serves as the National Compliance Officer.

Angel’s passion has always been about the community and how she can make a difference. She attends community events along with attending the Council Meetings in the City of South
